Pitching Tee Programs
The Grasshopper Sports Pitching Tee comes with specialized pitching and throwing programs that allow players of all ages to quickly learn and correct their form, while enforcing the proper mechanics. These customized programs speed up the proper pitching and throwing development time for players and coaches. Each program comes with easy steps that integrate with the Pitching Tee and it’s attachments. Here is an outline of the Baseball Pitching Program:
Step 1 – Proper Alignment
The Pitching Tee aligns the players front side and head as they throw to the target. This is the basis for correct form, throwing accuracy and reduces arm stress.
Step 2 – Proper Knee Lift
The Knee Lift Position Bar guides the player where to create a consistent knee lift height for their delivery to the plate. The proper knee lift will create proper balance and allow them to complete the remaining steps properly.
Step 3 – Proper Load
The Power Position Bar guides the player to properly load the backside before driving to the target. This helps increase the player’s velocity of the pitch/throw.
Step 4 – Proper Stride
The Knee Lift & Pass Under Bar guides the player to stride square by not swinging the lead leg outward toward the bar but directly down and under the bar. This helps the player with the timing of the pitch/throw and increases the velocity of the throw.
Step 5 – Proper Lead
The Hip Lead & Drive Bar guides the player to lead with their hip/lower half while keeping the upper body back. This increases the velocity of the pitch/throw by training the player to use their lower half to generate power.
Step 6 – Proper Extension
The Backside Drive Bar indicates to the player if they are driving off their back leg and getting proper extension to home plate. This helps the player to get maximum extension, increasing velocity and power.
Step 7 – Proper Follow Through
The Arm Path Follow Through Bar guides the player to keep their glove up, stride in line, and create a proper arm finish. The proper follow through increases consistency and velocity of the player’s pitches/throws.
Step 8 – Proper Form Repetition
Combine Steps 2 through 7 in unison. This trains the player in the proper pitching/throwing forms, teaching muscle memory and consistency. The repetition of the proper mechanics is the basis for throwing with increased accuracy, velocity and consistency.
